On April 19, 2026, members of the China Democracy Progressive Alliance held a peaceful protest in Eastwood, Sydney, Australia. Through signs, banners, and direct public engagement, participants expressed their opposition to the authoritarian rule of the Chinese Communist Party, personal dictatorship, and their support for freedom of speech, democratic elections, and the release of political prisoners.
活动现场，参与者在 Eastwood 商业街区公开展示写有“打倒独裁习近平”“结束一党专治”“开放民主选举”“释放政治犯”等内容的标语，并向路过民众介绍中国民主、人权与法治问题。许多路人驻足观看，也有人拿出手机拍照记录现场。
At the event, participants displayed signs in Eastwood’s commercial area with messages such as “Down with Xi Jinping’s dictatorship,” “End one-party rule,” “Open democratic elections,” and “Release political prisoners.” They also introduced issues concerning democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in China to passersby. Many people stopped to watch, and some took photos of the scene.

Participants displayed signs in Eastwood calling for an end to CCP tyranny and the establishment of a democratic China.
Samuel (Yichen Ji) also spoke with passersby at the scene, explaining his views opposing the CCP’s authoritarian rule and the importance of overseas Chinese speaking out publicly. He stated that those living in free societies should cherish the right to express themselves and should also speak for people in China who still live under a high-pressure political environment.
中国民主进步联盟认为，和平抗议和公开表达是海外华人参与公共事务的重要方式。通过持续发声、记录和传播真实信息，可以让更多人了解中国社会中的政治压迫、人权问题和公民自由困境。
The China Democracy Progressive Alliance believes that peaceful protest and public expression are important ways for overseas Chinese communities to participate in public affairs. Through continued speaking out, documentation, and sharing truthful information, more people can understand political repression, human rights issues, and the difficulties facing civil liberties in China.

This Eastwood peaceful protest was part of the CDPA’s ongoing advocacy in Australia for democracy, human rights, freedom, and the rule of law in China. We will continue to express our position in a rational, peaceful, and public manner, support prisoners of conscience, oppose authoritarianism, and encourage more people to pay attention to China’s future.
